Crossroads Galvanizing is Hiring a Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager Near Lafayette, IN

The Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for advancing process integrity across five plant locations and throughout all phases of product realization: from sourcing, to manufacturing, and delivery. This position assures consistent quality of products and services by developing and implementing best practices and operating procedures, validating processes, ensuring control of design and documentation, enhancing employee capabilities, assuring product conformity, and leading in the prevention of nonconformance. The goal of this position is to enable every employee who affects the quality of our products to perform accurately and continuously better.
Duties:
Collaborate and work with all departments and locations to make certain quality is planned and executed in accordance with our Quality Policy.
  • Design and develop quality documentation, i.e., procedures, work instructions, inspection, and sampling plans, as needed or requested.
  • Maintain documentation and revision level of quality documentation for all products or services.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive corporate-wide Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure it is effectively used and followed.
  • Facilitate, lead, train, and engage others how to lead Continuous Improvement efforts throughout the company (all locations).
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for the Quality Management System, initiate improvements to the system when required, and provide coaching and support of continuous improvement projects.
  • Advance process integrity throughout all phases of product realization; from development, to sourcing, to manufacturing and delivery.
  • Engage and work with customers to ensure their requirements and known, understood, and effectively defined and communicated.
  • Assure consistent quality of products and services by making certain requirements are correct (reflect the true need), appropriately defined and documented, understood, accurately measured, and consistently met.
  • Work with Plant Managers and other key staff to analyze and resolve Quality issues, facilitate Corrective Action, Problem Solving and Process Improvements per the QMS.
  • Identify opportunities to apply Lean concepts and techniques to drive out waste and make recommended actions to plant management.
  • Engage and work with the supply chain (including customer owned product) to assure conformance of incoming materials, parts, and components.
  • Advance personal knowledge by studying trends and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Adhere to all company safety standards.
Prior experience in participating and/or leading Kaizen events.
  • Define, substantiate, and recommend resources needed to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of this job.
  • Facilitate ISO 9000 certification process.
  • Provide routine management reports on the status of quality.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Quality or Engineering field
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing environment
Strong in data gathering, tracking and statistical analysis
  • Minimum five years' related experience related to quality assurance, lean manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and Six Sigma manufacturing
  • Holds Quality certifications in one or more of the following: ASQ/CQE, CMQ/QE, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt)
  • Hands-on approach to troubleshoot and resolve quality related issues
  • Detail and Quality focused with strong organization, persuasion, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from various levels within the organization
  • Self-starter, motivated, team focused, and results driven
  • Strong presentation and time management skills
  • Assertive, solutions focused, strategic and statistically oriented
  • Demonstrated history of consistently exceeding corporate goals
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Competent with QMS software
  • Able to travel overnight 50% of the time
  • Experience with Testing, Sampling, Measuring & Charting
  • Knowledge of Prints, Tolerances & Schematic Reading Familiarity with Metrology & Calibration
  • Excellent Group Facilitation and Project Management
  • Competent with Microsoft Office- Word/Excel/Project/PowerPoint/Access/Outlook
Experience in primary metals & galvanizing a plus
