General Description

The Elementary Coordinator will assist in all facets of Elementary ministry (1st-5th grade) at Crossroads Church. This includes contributing to and embracing the purpose and direction set by the Elementary Pastor and then motivating team members towards the fulfillment of that vision. This person must provide good people and communication skills, organization and administrative gifting, and great follow-through. He or she must embody the Kids Ministry culture by being Christ-centered, fun, innovative, relational, and exemplify first class hospitality.

Partnering with parents to launch the next generation into a lifelong journey with Jesus that impacts the world. 

Essential Job Functions

1. Embody Crossroads Christian Church’s mission, vision, values and staff expectations.

2. Present Large Group biblical teaching in a way that is relevant and meaningful to kids, in-person and online.

? Brainstorm, write and film teaching messages (Church at Home) as needed based on the monthly curriculum.

? Meet with the Elementary Teaching Team to determine the monthly theme and teaching direction.

? Assist in Kids Ministry YouTube projects for Elementary such as creating content, evaluating and filming videos.

? Teaching live when needed for Kids@Night and Sunday morning programming.

3. Provide Passionate Leadership for Elementary Life Groups.

? Edit weekly Life Group Lessons utilizing curriculum provided.

? Prep life Group curriculum supplies each week for all services. 

? Tailor Life Group Lessons and Life Group experience for both in-person and online ministry.

? Understand Age-Level Characteristics and how kids develop spiritually in order to provide a great Life Group Experience.

? Help with set-up and tear-down each weekend for Elementary.

? Oversee and manage Budget for Life Group supplies and curriculum.

? Lead Life Group as needed.

? Provide ongoing evaluation of Life Groups, working on methodology with Elementary Pastor.

4. Recruit and Develop Elementary Team Members

? Work with the Elementary Pastor to provide creative solutions for ongoing recruiting needs.

? Work with the Elementary Pastor to develop creative strategies to enhance the future of Elementary Ministry with the development and institution of age/grade rotations. (1st & 2nd /3rd-5th grade)

? Oversee the scheduling of Team Members.

? Recruit, schedule and develop 1st & 2nd grade Team Members.

? Recruit, schedule and develop specialized Team Members for assisting with Life Group – including, but not limited to: 

? Bin and supplies prep team

? Set-up and tear-down team

? Tech team (audio/visual)

? Leaders in Training

? Virtual Life Groups

? Lead and shepherd 1st & 2nd Team Members. (and 3rd-5th grade Team Members as needed).

? Recruit and develop a 1st & 2nd grade Team Lead to oversee the 1st & 2nd grade rotations for all in-person services.

? Manage schedules for Team Members.

? Send weekly communication along with Life Group Lessons to Team Members.

? Develop relationships with the children and families.

? Help ensure that team members are equipped and empowered for successful ministry. This includes consistently communicating the purpose, values, procedures, and safety requirements, leading Team Member huddles and participating in/co-leading Team Member trainings.

5. Provide Support and Oversight to Elementary Ministry Services and Events, as specified by Elementary Pastor

? Champion service ministry for upper Elementary Ages. 

? Support weekly service needs for Elementary Ministry – facilities; safety; equipment; etc.

? Support Elementary Large Group Ministry. 

? Partner with and help oversee aspects of all-church events that involve Elementary Age children: VBS; Ash Wednesday; etc.

? Support Elementary Large Group ministry including but not limited to, uploading all media to ProPresenter, editing videos, purchasing and oversight of large group supplies/props as needed and providing tech support.

6. Provide Passionate Leadership for the Leaders In Training (LIT) program:

· Recruit 4th-5th graders to be a part of the team.

· Send and process applications, parent communication, schedule and nametags.

· Oversight of where each LIT kid is serving and what service.

· Ongoing training of LIT kids.

· Continual communication with staff and Team Leads of each area that LIT kids serve in. 

· Recruitment and development of a Team Member to oversee this area of ministry under the leadership of the Elementary Coordinator.

The above summary of duties represents the major tasks and duties. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. Therefore, this person may perform other related tasks under the direction of the Elementary Pastor.

Education and Experience

This position requests a partial or full bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, ministry, church leadership, or similar, or the equivalent in vocational ministry experience. We seek someone with 1-3 years’ ministry experience.

Physical effort:

· Pushing/Pulling 

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

· Required to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
