Crossroads Christian Church is looking for someone to fulfill the call and the responsibilities of Children’s Ministry Director. This is a full-time position (roughly 31-33 hours/week) within the operating hours of Mon- Thus 8am-4pm, and Sunday mornings. The Kid’s Director will fulfill current ministry objectives, as well as further the growth and development of the ministry through the implementation of future goals.

Role Responsibilities and Duties

To guide the planning, development, and growth of our kids ministry using Biblical principles specific to ages infants through 5th grade. The Kids Director is responsible for pushing the ministry vision forward which is to equip parents to help their kids pursue Jesus for themselves and others so that God will be glorified. An extension of this is to also equip kids ministry volunteers to help them pursue Jesus for themselves and others. The Kids Director is prayerful to consider God’s plan and purposes for the ministry and is open to His leading and direction.

Director Responsibilities:

• Create serving schedule and communicate schedule to volunteers through Planning Center; manage schedule changes as needed.
• Schedule weekly serving reminders for volunteers; provide lesson plans to volunteers.
• Plan and implement volunteer trainings.
• Plan and implement volunteer appreciation events.
• Recruit and meet with potential volunteers.
• Pray for volunteers, ministry vision and objectives, and families.
• Meet with and invest in current volunteers on an as needed basis to build relationships.
• Develop procedures, expectations, and trainings for volunteers, train and onboard new volunteers.
• Ensure ministry vision is being carried out through volunteers, what happens on Sunday mornings, and beyond.
• Ensure Sunday mornings are a success; making sure volunteers arrive to classes on time and when scheduled; placing activity bins and walkie talkies in classrooms; checking that each volunteer has what they need; responding to needs that come through on the walkies throughout service; greeting new and regular attending families; ensuring check-in stations are functioning properly; securing kids area during service; etc.
• Oversee the condition and maintenance of materials in classrooms.
• Plan ministry objectives for the year and manage ministry budget.

Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Download, save, and print Orange curriculum for classrooms.
• Download and save Orange videos for classrooms.
• Select 3-4 weekly lesson plans from Orange curriculum for each classroom.
• Build weekly activity bins for each classroom.
• Set up rooms for Sunday with walkies, activities, videos, etc.
• Order supplies for activities as needed.
• Maintain the organization and inventory of the supply closet.
• Sort through and clean donated toys/books; donate unused toys.

Future Growth Areas/Goals for Kids Ministry:

• Establish and train team leads
• Implement a volunteer onboarding process:

o background checks for all kids’ volunteers

o statement of belief “contract” for volunteers to sign

o training materials and volunteer expectations; online quiz

• Engage with parents via social media/Parent Que App, and monthly newsletters.
• Establish a program/environment that caters to kids with special needs.
• Identify volunteers and create a planning team for events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Some college or college degree preferred.
• Background in education/early childhood education, teaching, or pre-school/daycare strongly preferred.
• Organized; excellent communicator; self-motivated; confident; flexible; able to manage multiple project and tasks at once; ability to see what needs done with little to no direction; a servant leader.
• Have an active and growing relationship with Jesus; an outgoing personality; someone who is comfortable talking with people and meeting 1 on 1; confident to suggest ideas and implement them; someone who can address and handle conflict according to a Biblical standard; has a team mentality; can maintain integrity with confidential information; comfortable talking in front of large groups and 1 on 1 with adults and kids.
• Kids Director and immediate family/household will attend Crossroads Christian Church as their regular church of worship.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
