Crossnore Communities for Children is looking for couples (spouses, relatives, friends) to join our new Bridging Families program as Bridge Parents. As a Bridge Parent, you'll make a profound impact by providing a safe, nurturing home for children in transition, supporting their emotional and developmental needs, and guiding families towards successful reunification. Your dedication and compassion will help shape brighter futures for children and strengthen family bonds, making a lasting difference in the Hendersonville community. 
Location: Hendersonville, NC 
Schedule: Live In, 24/7 position, with respite provided up to 4 days a month
Status: Full Time, Exempt 
Hiring Range: $42,000 to $48,000 annually per person, and Housing provided; $3000 SIGN ON BONUS PER PERSON

Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field strongly preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
  • Minimum of two years experience in working with children and families required, preferably in a mental health or child welfare setting.
  • Prior residential/house parent experience or previous foster parent experience and knowledge of age appropriate living skills strongly preferred. 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and Maintain Daily Routine: Create a stable and structured environment for up to 6 children, ensuring consistency and predictability in their daily lives.
  • Care Coordination: Manage appointments, documentation, meal preparation, household expenses, and budgets to ensure the children's needs are met efficiently.
  • Parental Support: Coach and support birth parents in developing healthy and appropriate parenting skills, facilitating their reunification process.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with community partners, Social Services, schools, and other supportive entities to address the holistic needs of the children.
  • Trauma-Informed Care: Utilize a trauma-informed approach to provide culturally competent and therapeutic care, promoting resilience and emotional well-being in children.
  • Medication and Health Management: Administer medications, attend medical appointments, and follow through with healthcare recommendations.
  • Educational Support: Monitor school attendance, assist with homework, participate in school activities, and advocate for the educational needs of the children.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including incident reports, medical records, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and agency policies.
  • Crisis Intervention: Demonstrate the ability to handle crisis situations effectively, using sound judgment and trauma-informed strategies to maintain safety and stability.
  • Foster Positive Relationships: Build and nurture professional relationships with children, families, and other stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration for successful outcomes.
