As a registered nurse - wound care (RN), you'll treat patients who have acute or chronic wounds, including chemical or thermal burns, ulcers, skin tears and diabetic foot wounds. Working at a hospital, wound care center, assisted living facility, home health setting, clinic, or other healthcare setting, you'll collaborate with physicians and other care team members to help prevent disease and promote healing. Your responsibilities may include evaluating, debriding, disinfecting, treating and bandaging wounds, as well as administering antibiotics and pain medications. You'll play an essential role in providing moral support and education for your patients.
