Position Overview :

The Pump Truck Operator is responsible for delivering concrete using the most efficient method as well as other responsibilities on the pump truck.

The Pump Truck Operator is a full-time, seasonal position that requires travel and overtime through peak season, reports to the Foreman, and has no supervisory responsibility.

Essential Duties and Functions :

• Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects
• Maintain vehicles in a clean, organized, and safe manner
• Complete pre and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure that all DOT standards are met (i.e. air brakes, oil, water, tire inflation, proper lighting, permits, safety kit, logbook updated, etc.)
• Perform maintenance on assigned trucks
• Deliver concrete using the most efficient route as directed by the dispatcher or Plant Manager
• Routinely connect multiple hoses and pipes using hand tools
• Reposition tubes and pipes so the concrete will be discharged in desired locations
• Navigate pedals, buttons, and levers while monitoring gauges and being communicated to via hand signals
• Communicate and work with all customers in a manner that reflects excellent customer service
• Work with the local Plant Manager and other drivers to ensure all customer requests are being met
• Complete wash down at job site according to location customer directs and ensure pump equipment is properly cleaned after each job
• Fuel truck, clean truck, and complete end-of-day truck inspection
• Record any maintenance issues that would inhibit work production or create safety concerns
• Process required paperwork throughout the day (time reporting, truck reports, trip tickets)
• Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours)

Position Requirements :

• Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test
• Class B CDL with air tanker endorsement
• Mechanical background and skills
• Understand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal
