• Performs routine preventative maintenance (PM) activities.
• Transports and stores equipment and items within and between facilities and to storage areas.
• Performs minor maintenance and repair of building equipment and lighting systems.
• Troubleshoots system and equipment problems – identifies problems and recommends solutions and corrective actions. 
• Uses testing and measuring instruments and devices. 
• Maintains a positive and professional relationship with Medical Center management, departments and staff. 
• Provides high quality and timely services throughout the Medical Center and to off-campus facilities. Absorbs new concepts and analyzes operational problems and recommends timely, effective and economical solutions.

Candidate must be in good physical health and be fully ambulatory. Job requires long periods of standing, walking, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, squatting and climbing within the Medical Center and outdoors. Visual and auditory acuity is necessary. Works with or near fumes, chemicals, electricity, hazardous waste, flammable liquids, heights, construction areas and potentially dangerous machinery. Exposed to: machinery noise, inclement weather, dust/dirt and extremes of heat and cold. Incumbent minimizes accident hazards by following safety precautions and wearing personal protective clothing. Frequently carries items up to 60 pounds. Moves items weighing from 100 - 300 lb. using proper moving equipment and techniques.
