CNC Programmer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide CNC machine programming, setup and machining expertise in support of daily production and prototyping.
Develop CNC programs using Mastercam, GibbsCAM or Partmaker.
Configure tools and ensure efficient production.
Analyze blueprints to calculate correct part dimensions for tool selection, machine speeds and feed rates.
Occasionally set up and operate CNC equipment.
Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements.
Communicate recommendations to engineering to modify parts and processes.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High School or GED Diploma required - Associates Degree or Certification in related field preferred.
5 years CNC programming using Mastercam, UGibbsCAM and/or Partmaker.
5 years operating CNC machines with metals.
Some experience doing setup and troubleshooting of CNC machines
Use of precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work.
Read Instrumentation and gauges to accurately measure dimensions on parts being machined.
Must be proficient in G-code and M-code programming.
Experience selecting tooling and machining resources for the manufacture of parts.
Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities.
