Requires a high school diploma in General Studies or a GED state certification with the completion of an Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program and ASTEP courses.
Membership in one or more professional associations (AAST, AASM, SRS, ASET, AARC) related to sleep/wake technologist is preferred. Polysmnographer must be registered.
Requires and maintains a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist certification (RPSGT) from the Board
of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist and/or Registered Sleep Technologist certification (RST)
from the American Board of Sleep Medicine.
Requires and maintains a certification in Basic Life Saving (BLS).
