Crisis Center of Comal County is Hiring a Prevention Case Manager Near New, TX

Position Title: Prevention Case Manager
Program: Prevention Supervisor: Clinic Director FLSA Status:
Summary: Coordinates development and implementation of agency prevention education in the schools and community as well as program services for children of agency clients. Prevention and education objectives intended to reduce domestic violence include education about healthy relationships, stalking and dating violence, sexual assault awareness and prevention. Provides program oversight to the children’s program. Children’s program includes school enrollment, after school, summer education and recreation programs, limited childcare, and resource coordination with DFPS and other community agencies serving children. Oversee and ensure smooth operation of program services, regularly evaluating effectiveness, appropriateness, service delivery and cost efficiency. Serves on evening coverage and SANE on-call on a scheduled basis. Works non-traditional hours to include some evening and weekend hours required.
Essential Functions:
  • Develop, coordinate, and present educational sessions to students, teachers, parents, and community groups which address domestic violence, healthy dating relationships, sexual assault and stalking issues.
  • Identify and create evidence-based curriculum for education and prevention presentations.
  • In collaboration with Director of Community Relations and team members, assures that prevention and education services are accessible and well utilized by the community
  • Identify programmatic strategies designed to meet the emotional, educational and physical needs of children residing in the shelter
  • Serves on evening coverage and SANE on-call on a scheduled basis.
  • Work collaboratively with agency team members to provide needed comprehensive services to children.
  • Plan and implement activities for shelter summer program, holiday events and field trips
  • Maintain positive relationships with partner agencies and community representatives, Summer Program Aide(s), and Contract Prevention Educator(s)- when applicable
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate collaboratively as a member of a team in developing and maintaining all programs of the Crisis Center
  • Make public appearances when requested as a representative of the agency to represent the services of the agency to the community
  • Ensure timely preparation of administrative documents and reports as requested/required
  • Attend meetings and training as required.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by supervisor
Qualifications/Skills: Program management skills and strong presentation skills required; excellent oral and written communication skills; public speaking experience necessary; knowledgeable regarding sexual assault issues and the dynamics of domestic violence and homelessness; computer literate proficiency in Microsoft Office products; highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities concurrently with minimal supervision; non-traditional hours to include some evening and weekend hours required; some travel requiring a valid driver’s license and a personal, insured vehicle for use on the job required.
Experience and/or Education: Bachelor’s Degree in human services or education required or equivalent work experience. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations Must possess a current, valid, Texas driver’s license and proof of auto liability insurance.
