Position: Electrical Maintenance Tech
Reports to: Electrical Supervisor

Summary:

Repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment and plant electrical equipment, and requires good working knowledge of PLC hardware and software troubleshooting, electrical standards, pressure and temperature transmitters.

What you’ll be contributing:

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Complies with all safety policies, procedures, and established safe practices and ensures that all direct reports do the same.
  • Work with high and low voltage motor testing, circuit breakers testing, circuits testing and troubleshooting.
  • Work with PLC, ESP, and VFD setup and troubleshooting.
  • Process gas analyzer troubleshooting and calibration.
  • Piping and wiring.
  • Pneumatic controls.
  • Hydraulic controls.
  • Air conditioner repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Lights and receptacles troubleshooting.
  • Basic CAN preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Field instrumentation- Level - calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Field instrumentation - Pressure - calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Field instrumentation – Temperature – calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Weight Feeders – calibration and troubleshooting.
  • CEMS technician to provide Maintenance and Coordinate Repairs with Environmental Manager.
  • Drag Line – maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Load-out Scale – calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Quarry – PLC tests and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in good housekeeping practices using 5S Housekeeping program.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures and practices.
  • Assist with other departmental needs as required.
  • Must be able to provide instruction, direction and support to outside contractors for special projects or plant outages.
  • Operate mobile equipment.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To succeed in this position, you will need:

  •  Must have an associate degree in the electrical or electronics field or equivalent training
  • Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  • Willingness to learn, training will be provided 
  • Minimum of 3 years of Maintenance Electrician Experience Required
  • Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities and must meet qualifications required for this position.
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule to include nights and weekends and must be able to assist the Electrical department with Call out and work after scheduled shift if need be.
  • Ability to read and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, and similar information.

  • Ability to learn computer and instrumentation systems involved in the cement process.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

What to expect in a cement environment: 

Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
