Position Overview
This is a skilled position requiring the individual to effectively take material orders from customers. This position requires speaking with customer on the phone. Making good customer relations skills and requires a basic knowledge of the construction industry.
Wage Range: $17 to $20 dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Receive incoming customer calls. Take verbal aggregate orders over the telephone.
  • Handle all calls and other forms of communication in a courteous, professional and helpful manner.
  • Input the orders into the JWS/Apex program.
  • Ensure proper customer information and materials are entered correctly.
  • Maintain communication with customers, dispatchers, and CSR team members.
  • Maintain facilities and keep in good working order all necessary equipment.
  • Properly follow all company policies and procedures. Report any problems to the Department Manager, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
  • Basic knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Basic knowledge of the western slope of Colorado.
Qualifications

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Knowledge of the aggregate material and construction industry is preferred.
  • Two (2) years' experience in order taking and construction industry is preferred.
Work Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is necessary.
  • Previous work within the construction/ ready mix industry is preferred.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have a strong working knowledge of Database software.
