The successful candidate will have experience in managing strategic procurement processes from the estimating of products and services through to supplier performance management, with a focus on strategic procurement activities to ensure best solutions and value for the business. They will understand what metrics are used to measure success and how to drive improvement in spend profile by leading a cross-functional team. They will work closely with our procurement manager and SMI manager to ensure continuity across all supply chain activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy and Development

Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice procurement vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance

General and Task Management

• Identify a process and metrics to measure PPV (in Epicor ERP system), and work with peers to drive improvement
• Work with teammates to identify cost saving opportunities within the company spend profile, develop implementation timelines, and lead the execution of the associated activities
• Support RFQ processes to identify and coordinate best value sourcing strategy in support of new business opportunities.
• Work with teammates to identify best practices for on-time delivery to MRP
• Work with team to mitigate and manage exceptions
• Facilitate any subcontract agreements/purchase orders to drive long term savings

Financial Budget and Control

• Maintain records/metrics to show financial impact of improvement projects

Relationship Management

• Work as part of the team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve overall manufacturing lead times, in line with quality standards and customer deliverables
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies as and when required in a timely way and handle any concerns
• Liaise with others in the business to monitor requirements and to ensure quality of service

Qualifications and Experience Levels:

• College degree preferred
• 7 years of experience in contracts/procurement/negotiation roles
• Aerospace manufacturing experience
• Must have demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective systems and procedures
• Must have demonstrated experience with identifying and driving cost reduction activities through strategic sourcing
• Must have demonstrated ability to develop professional relationships with management, peers, vendors, subcontractors, and customers
