Crestron is a world leader in audiovisual automation and integration equipment. We just celebrated our 50th anniversary and are looking forward to the next 50 years. Need for efficient automation and communication equipment has always been there. In this post pandemic world, where remote work is the norm, the need for our products is seeing stellar growth, especially, in the software side of our business. Our software design tools are designed to help resellers (and customers) easily design control systems, deploy it (think big corporations, universities, huge private properties) and monitor them. On our roadmap is the use of AI/ML for building self-learning engines that enable quick feedback loops – all this to create world class solutions that enthrall our customers. Are you ready be a Lead Software Architect on this fast growing and exciting team?

Responsibilities

• Top, mobile and web platforms with focus on modular architecture.
• You will work as part of a team of senior architects responsible for solving complex design issues.
• Engage with product owners to analyze complex ideas and provide meaningful design recommendations using abstractions, design mocks, proto-types and other communication methods.
• You will become part of the architecture team and together you will ideate, decompose user stories, and deliver engineering collateral.
• Excellent communications, both written and verbal, will be a very important part of this job as you will need to play friend, philosopher and guide to a cadre of developers, many of whom you will only occasionally meet (in person).
• ParticipatPrimarily, to design and architect new applications for deskte in design discussions and code reviews within or across departments.
• While “designing the new” is a big ask for this job, making the existing code based better is a requirement also. Are you experienced in design structure matrix analysis or similar thought processes? Do you have any experience in studying, and then reducing code complexity? This will be a huge plus.
• You may be asked to help with estimation and sizing of deliverables so sprints can be loaded meaningfully.
• You are a star and have learned acquired a lot of best practices in your travels. We would expect you to contribute development processes such as coding standards, best practices, code reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or equivalent. Masters in CS will be a plus.
• 10 years of software development experience with 3 years as Software Architect.
• Fundamentals knowledge of software engineering best practices – think efficient / robust / modular maintainable code – is par for this role.
• Demonstrate extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success with utilizing the following tools and technologies to provide architecture solutions:
• Frontend mockup tools like Balsamic / Figma
  • HTML5 Custom Components, JavaScript, TypeScript
  • .Net Core and C#
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks like Angular, React.
  • NET Core (a plus)
  • Blazor (a plus)
  • SQL experience (a plus)
  • Experience with Atlassian toolset like Jira and Confluence (a plus)
• At least three years of experience in Cloud based systems to architect, build and deploy micro services-based applications (Azure preferred). (a plus)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and processes.
• Provide assistance in interviewing and growing our team or mentoring junior members.
• Some travel to conferences is expected where you will be able to see “what’s next” for yourself.
