Job Purpose: This position supports the Crest Select Unit (Small Business Unit) on specified accounts and may provide relevant insurance advice to new and existing clients. As a representative of the agency, the Account Manager must maintain a positive, professional image as well as exemplify the agency's standards for client service. The Account Manager must have a working understanding of the range of products and services offered by the firm and strive to develop long-term relationships with clients and insurance company underwriters. The position is responsible for interacting directly with clients as well as providing ongoing support and service to clients. The duties of this position include the exercise of discretion and independent judgment and authority with respect to performing work that affects business operations to a substantial degree, including but not limited to the binding and interpretation of insurance coverages. Works under the direction of SBU Manager, servicing assigned clients.

Summary

Account Managers may have processing support, however, they may be required to perform all duties necessary to meet client service needs and therefore require experience and working knowledge of all processes related to client service. This position requires computer skills, communication skills, verbal skills and mathematical skills. The Account Manager must be able to successfully utilize technology: Agency Management system, inputting policy information accurately as per agency procedures; Excel, Word, Outlook, CSR24; Applied EPIC, be able to navigate through various carrier websites to retrieve items for processing or customer inquiries. Adhere to Agency policy, workflows and procedures. Additional duties may be assigned. This is a state licensed position.

Commercial Lines Account Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for servicing and retaining assigned client accounts
  • Review and/or process new and renewal policies, endorsements, audits, audit assignments, cancellations, non-renewal notices, proof of auto insurance, and all similar documents for accuracy and prepare correspondence to insured and/or carrier as needed;
  • Confirm all coverage is bound; Issue binder or obtain binders from wholesalers on behalf of customers as needed
  • Assist with rating/marketing within unit for purposes of renewal/remarket process
  • Assist with completing and reviewing applications to help identify and target new business lines for existing insureds making recommendations to SBU Producer(s) and account rounding as appropriate
  • Maintain current knowledge of insurance coverages and exposures and the insurance products and markets available to cover the exposures
  • Review and adhere to processing procedures in order to:
    • Incorporate the capabilities of the Agency management system into the daily work flow
    • Streamline the workflow
  • Working knowledge of CSR24; ability to issue individual certificate requests, renewal processing requests, and assisting with clients' access & utilization of the Client Portal
  • Knowledge and ability to create Summaries of Insurance and Proposals of Insurance
  • Create, order, and process policy changes per insureds requests and communicate changes successfully to the carrier.
  • Invoicing - timely, accurately, and per agency policy and procedure
  • Acts independently; Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions
  • Follow agency Standard of Excellence and Best Practices procedures for processing and preparation of customer correspondence, certificates of insurance, binders, cancellation requests, insurance I.D. cards and internal correspondence as requested ensuring that activities and follow-ups are set and the client file in the Agency Management systems is updated and consistent
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 3 or more years related experience; or High School Diploma/GED and 5 or more years related experience

Arizona P&C license required

Professional designation such as Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) preferred

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Physical demands of the position include standing, sitting for prolonged periods of time, walking, talking, hearing, bending, repetitive typing, and ability to lift up to 25lbs. Work is performed in an office environment with moderate noise.

Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Agency Management systems (such as Sagitta, AMS360, Image Right (Work Smart) or other similar system for Client and policy file maintenance preferred.

Customer Service: Manages Difficult or emotional customer situation; responds promptly to customer needs, responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments.
