Description

Crescent Brands is looking for an Export Manager who will plan and coordinate the international shipments of goods in compliance with the export laws and regulations. In addition, the Export Manager will liaise with our international customers, our sales team and our operations to help execute to our sales plan and maximize revenue generation. This role reports to the SVP of Finance and Operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Customer Service

• Process and manage each order accurately and timely from beginning to end, including initial quoting, entry, shipment, final documents to our customers/freight companies, and follow-up as needed.
• Manage proforma invoices
• Communicate with our operations team regarding order dating and manufacturing timing and specifics
  • Understand and be familiar with our business, product lines and SKUs
  • Appropriately estimate order size at time of quoting (pieces, weight and volume), and make necessary recommendations to customers for adjustments that are needed, based on either container capacity or target volume levels for pricing or freight
  • Ensure international documentation completed as required for each shipment maintaining continuous communication with the customers, freight forwarders and trucking companies to ensure we make vessel cut offs, and customers have required documentation for customs clearance
• Maintain customer communication providing clarity and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Translate Spanish communication in Latin America
• Establish and maintain customer order files and process documentation
• Handle international collections as a liaison between Crescent A/R and international customers

Logistics

• Understand Incoterms (international commercial terms, which determine the tasks, costs and risks associated with international freight) and effectively manage freight quotations and invoicing of charges to customers based on established Incoterms.
• Negotiate and manage freight quotes with freight forwarders to minimize costs and ensure customer satisfaction, for both FCL and LCL freight rates, based on order specific volume and weights
• Schedule FCL and LCL shipments
• Oversee each shipment by working with freight forwarders, trucking companies, and our shipping department to ensure we receive containers, load, return containers, and provide necessary documentation, to ensure successful vessel cut offs
• Manage freight invoices / ocean documents ensuring customer satisfaction and company profit

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of proven export manager
• Freight forwarder experience a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related field OR equivalent experience
• Must be detail-oriented with strong follow through skills
• Customer service oriented
• Strong problem solving and analysis skillset
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Solid understanding of USA customary system of weights and measures versus the international metric system, and ability to convert effectively between the two, for communication with international customer base
• Communicate effectively in oral and written form
• Fluency in Spanish, oral and written

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by job responsibility
• Negotiate contracts
• Work with Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point)
