As a Collections Specialist, you must possess excellent communication customer service skills. All Collections Specialists are provided with the tools and training necessary to maintain industry compliance and drive SUCCESS!

JOB PURPOSE:

The Collection Specialist is responsible for communications via industry-specific software with delinquent customer accounts in an attempt to collect past-due payment, update and maintain consumer records and receive/process payments

Collection Specialist’s duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Work 200-300 calls/accounts per day
  • Contact consumers in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner
  • Accurately record collection notes utilizing a collections database in a Windows-based operating system
  • Maintain company performance and productivity standards
  • Maintain knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures. This includes reciting the scripted opening when the right party is reached, identifying the consumer, identifying themselves (alias or name), identifying the company, and asking for payment on the account
  • Completing other tasks as assigned

Qualifications for Collections Specialists:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, quota-driven contact center environment
  • 1-year Customer Service - Preferred, but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • 35 wpm minimum typing speed, 10-key by touch
  • Excellent attendance
  • Goal oriented
  • Bi-Lingual preferred but not required
