Installation Technician Job Description:
Responsibilities include installation, programming, troubleshooting of Audio, Video, and Lighting systems. The Installation Technician is responsible for installing and servicing the systems in the most efficient and effective manner to assure maximum performance and stability. All installations and service must meet the highest quality standards while assuring a professional and safe and clean working environment. Experience is required. MUST BE 25 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AND HAVE A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD.
Responsibilities:
1. Understands function and programming of audio, video, lighting and control systems.
2. Develops proficiency with tuning and calibrating of audio, video, lighting, and control systems.
3. Understands rigging standards and methods for installation of audio, video, and lighting in multiple field conditions. 4. Must possess the ability to closeout a project including but not limited to labeling wiring and components in a legible and consistent manner and train the end user.
5. Performs assembly, installation, testing, and repair of equipment, materials and systems. This includes the use of machinery and power tools necessary to complete all tasks.
6. Responsible for reading and understanding project documentation (wiring diagrams, schematics, spreadsheets, specifications, and blueprints).
7. Coordinates with management and office for delivery of project documentation, materials, tools, and equipment needed to perform assigned work.
8. Advises Management of requests for additional labor, equipment, engineering and sales assistance.
9. Inform Management of any problems and concerns with assigned projects.
10. Keeps jobsite clean and secures tools on a daily basis. Help clean and straighten up the shop and company vehicles. 11. Responsible for keeping track of personal time card which includes clocking in and out of the correct job assignment. 12. Maintains a professional image, appearance, and behavior at all times.
13. Actively participate in personal and professional training and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offers.
14. Be able to travel for specific projects.
Additional Skills and Abilities required:
1. Soldering – proficient in terminating connectors, plates and other related solder connections. 2. Connector types – proficient with crimp, solder, captive screw and compression style termination for audio, video and lighting connections. 3. Wire – proficient in reading wire pull lists, pulling wire and setting up for pulls including labeling, using snakes, fish rods, pull string, wire lube, wire pulling grips, vacuum, etc. 4. Understanding of how to use industry standard hand tools, ladders, lifts, labelers, testing equipment, signal generators, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
5. Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized. 6. Valid and current driver’s license. 7. Must pass a federal background check to meet the Jessica Lunsford Act requirements to work in schools. 8. Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers. 9. Lifting of moderate to heavy objects is required. (up to 75 pounds) 10. Working at tall heights up to 50 feet and operate various lifts; single man, scissor and articulated lifts.
