JOB SUMMARY : The Transportation / Shipping Assistant position plays a critical role in our success. We are looking for a professional, experienced individual with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Must be detail-orientated and possess an ability to multitask while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and TEAMs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Accurately documents status of all assigned jobs utilizing internal management software
• Create daily traffic, dock and local trucking delivery schedules
• Assist the Traffic Coordinator in generating and maintaining accurate information in logistics database
• Identify transportation related details within work order, request additional information and communicate any issues or needed details with appropriate personnel
• Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments and local delivery schedules
• Assists in generating bill of lading along with return bill and ensure delivery details are included on the form
• Create shipping and return labels with necessary details regarding shipment
• Schedule and coordinate warehouse transfers between CSG facilities
• Execute expedited rush shipments when necessary
• Answer requests for shipping information
• Works with Traffic Coordinator to ensure on-time pick and deliveries
• Demonstrates a willingness to assist other Traffic related personnel with the completion of their tasks

QUALIFICATIONS :

• One to two years related vendor scheduling / tracking / shipping experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
• High degree of accuracy in data entry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, TEAMs. Demonstrates more than a basic knowledge of computers and applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Excel.

Demonstrates the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new computer systems, company specific computer programs and other new technology

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
