Position Description

After our Solar PV panels are installed, they must undergo operations and maintenance (O&M) to function properly and meet energy production targets over the lifecycle of the system, extending its life and ensuring quality. Unique to other companies in the Solar Industry, Creative Solar has identified Service as a key component of an Operations and Maintenance division and has broadened this field from just Operations and Maintenance to Operations, Maintenance, and Service.

Creative Solar USA has a dedicated team to facilitate this process. The O&M Service Tech will work with the O&M team to assess problematic situations, perform O&M visits and resolutions, and handle all monitoring site mapping responsibilities as well as assisting other Operations staff with original installations when necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities with the O&M team and other Operations staff, as required.
  • Assist in maintaining the O&M vehicle with all necessary tools and equipment.
  • Report O&M vehicle maintenance issues to the fleet coordinator staff person (Permitting Admin.).
  • Secure/prepare necessary materials to complete O&M assignments.
  • Develop skills to navigate monitoring and commissioning platforms.
  • Assess and troubleshoot O&M issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Record activities in writing and photographs, and appropriately in the CRM/ERP tools and spreadsheets, as needed.
  • Assist the Design Engineer with site surveys, site assessments, code compliance, project designs, single line drawings, structural engineering requests, BOM's, and documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with PV commissioning and monitoring platforms.
  • Ability to pick up new information quickly.
  • Have a valid driver's license and clean MVR.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum two years of related installation experience required. Any design experience is preferred.
  • At least 1 year on-roof experience with solar installations
  • Certifications for all batteries and hardware used for installation.
  • OSHA-10 certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., repeatedly.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, monitor viewing, standing, or driving.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights (rooftops), and assess tight spaces (attics).
  • Ability to work while utilizing PPE (personal protective equipment).
