Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting chair-side with our dentist for a range of procedures. If you are passionate about dental health and have excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

Duties:

- Arrive to the office 15 minutes before the start of the working day:

Monday, Wednesday 7am-3pm Tuesday, Thursday 10am-5pm

- Escort and seat patients to and from procedure rooms in a timely manner

- Assist with front desk responsibilities: answering phones, scheduling patients, collecting payments...etc.

- Show care and concern, and help patients feel comfortable

- Take dental x-rays for diagnostic purposes

- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care

- Anticipate and assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and maintaining a sterile field- *Practice 4-handed dentistry

- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories as needed

-Oversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization procedures

-Disinfect treatment rooms according to OSHA regulations

-Sterilize all instruments and handpieces according to OSHA regulations

-Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases

-Implement the preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for dental equipment

- Stay up-to-date with advancements in dental technology, techniques, and regulations

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations

- Graduate of accredited dental assisting program and a minimum of 6 months dental assisting experience

-Coursework in dental instruments and procedures

-Compliance with state dental practice requirements (e.g., x-ray requirements, OSHA training)

- Experience working with electronic health record systems (Open Dental preferred)

-Commitment to CE for career development

We offer competitive compensation based on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 – 35 per week
