Independent living is not doing things by yourself. It is being in control of how things are done.
I am an active, married female singer/songwriter recording artist. My PCAs assist me with personal care, cooking, household chores, shopping, errands, appointments, and anything else that comes up. I also need someone who can drive me in my van. I use a power wheelchair and numerous home health gadgets. I am looking for responsible, organized, careful, and meticulous people who respect my home, privacy and requests.
I am looking for physically strong non-smoking females preferred to assist me. I have both day and evening shifts available. I also have 24 hour shifts available. They begin at 9 AM and ends 9 AM the next day. For example, you come in at 9 AM, help me throughout the day, help me get to bed at night (I am a bit of a night person) then you sleep in the guest room and wake up when I need assistance during the night. You do not have to stay awake overnight but have to be a light sleeper to hear a call button and respond accordingly. 9 AM the next morning is the end of your shift. You would do a set day or two per week. There are many opportunities to work extra shifts if I need a fill in or wish to travel.
I have 40 years of experience training and managing PCAs. No prior experience is necessary. This is a great way to build a resume, especially for those wishing to work in the music or medical field. All PCAs are formally hired and provided paid training. You need to be in good physical shape and able to follow detailed directions.
I am not looking for a companion - to do this job well you must be able to cheerfully physically assist me and at the same time give me the privacy and space I need to function normally. I need you to, in a way, let me borrow your hands to help me do things my own way. For example, I am an excellent cook but cannot use my hands to cook. My PCA follows my directions to enable me to prepare the recipes I so love!
Please include your phone number in your response. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A CASH POSITION. YOU WILL RECEIVE A W2.role.
