Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Materials Specialist to join our team. As a Materials Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement, production planning, and inventory control processes. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout our organization.
Duties:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the supply chain and improve overall efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast material requirements and develop production plans
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials
- Coordinate with suppliers to procure materials at competitive prices while maintaining quality standards
- Implement and maintain MRP system to track inventory and manage material flow
- Analyze data to identify trends, forecast demand, and make informed decisions regarding inventory levels
- Oversee the fabrication and assembly of materials to meet production schedules
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and improve productivity
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards in all material handling processes
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Materials Manager or similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
- Proficiency in using Outlook, Excel, and MRP systems
- Solid understanding of production planning processes and techniques
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
