STAFF ACCOUNTANT
ABOUT THE COMPANY:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the finance team of our client in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, performing financial analysis and ensuring compliance with accounting standards specific to the trucking industry. Your strong attention to detail and analytical skills will contribute to the financial success of their company.
OVERVIEW OF THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT ROLE:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll for the trucking company.
- Ensure all financial transactions related to trucking operations are properly documented, classified, and recorded in accordance with accounting principles and industry-specific regulations.
- Reconcile bank statements, fuel and maintenance expenses, and other financial data to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, taking into account factors unique to the trucking industry, such as fuel costs, maintenance expenses, and transportation fees.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT ROLE:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of proven experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role, preferably within the trucking or transportation industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and industry-specific regulations.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, codes & regulations.
