Creative Financial Staffing has partnered with a publicly traded commercial pharmaceutical company to identify a Staff Accountant to join their team.

Highlights of the Staff Accountant Opportunity:

• Publicly traded commercial biopharmaceutical company that launched its first therapy to the market in 2021 and has a strong pipeline in place.
• They have pioneered a first-in-class treatment for a rare genetic disorder. This is a ground-breaking treatment that does not have any competitors in the market.
• The Staff Accountant positions offers complexity, variability, and visibility. It will interact with key organizational stakeholders including the Controller, VP of Finance, etc.
• The Staff Accountant will focus on the monthly and quarterly financial statement close process, the annual audit, and other financial and accounting systems
• This role requires 2-3 days/week in the office during the training period and will move to 1-2 days/week.

The Staff Accountant’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Record cash transactions through journal entries and reconcile monthly bank statements.
• Develop and manage schedules for fixed assets and depreciation/amortization.
• Execute and record monthly/quarterly journal entries to the General Ledger, along with conducting balance sheet reconciliations.
• Compile documentation for external quarterly reviews and annual financial audits, ensuring compliance with SOX 404.
• Contribute to the design and upkeep of company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Collaborate on special projects aimed at enhancing processes and driving positive change.
• Undertake various accounting duties as required, supporting the broader needs of the accounting department.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• 1 years of directly related experience
• Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Life Science experience is required.
• If straight out of public accounting must have pharmaceutical, biotech, or life science clients.
• Experience working for a publicly traded company is highly preferred.
