Chief Financial Officer
Columbus, OH We are actively seeking candidates for the CFO position with a well respected local client in the legal services industry. As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our operations, providing strategic leadership, and ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the firm. You will collaborate closely with the executive team and partners to develop and execute financial plans, drive profitability, and optimize resources to support our strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, preferably within the legal industry, and a proven track record of success in leading financial strategy and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies and plans to support the firm's growth objectives and enhance profitability.
  • Oversee all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
  • Provide strategic guidance and financial insights to the executive team and partners to inform decision-making and drive business performance.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor financial performance against targets, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards, and oversee audits and tax filings.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and financial advisors.
  • Assess and mitigate financial risks, implementing controls and procedures to safeguard the firm's assets and financial integrity.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of senior-level finance experience, with significant experience in financial management and strategy.
  • Prior experience in the legal industry or professional services preferred.
  • Deep understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think analytically and make sound business decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
