Creative Dining Services located on the Dordt University campus in Sioux Center, IA is looking for a part-time Cook for the Defender Grille. The hours will be from 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. As the cook, you will work within the Dining Services Department to ensure that high quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation, in a fiscally responsible and safe manner. You will work cooperatively as a valued member of the dining services team, assisting with any aspect of the dining services program necessary.

Core Responsibilities:

• Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
• Store food items according to established standards of practice; utilize proper labeling and dating
• Maintain established logs (food temperatures, cooler & freezer temperatures, etc.)
• Maintain a safe, tidy and well-organized work environment at all times; clean up spills quickly, wear protective gear as needed (i.e.: slicer glove), and store wares safely
• Follow established work rules and regulations; ready for work in the kitchen, in uniform, at the scheduled time
• Support other kitchen employees in assuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately

 The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Minimum of 2 years cooking experience preferred but not required
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
• ServSafe Certification preferred but not required
