Crazy Maple Studio, Inc., a fast growing gaming studio located in the heart of Silicon Valley, is looking for a Junior/Mid-level Bilingual Writer/Editor with fluency in English and Mandarin. Strong interest in K-Drama and Romance and 2-3 years of experience in a writing role preferred. This is a full-time on-site role.

Through KISS: READ AND WRITE ROMANCE, enthusiastic players are welcomed into the world of serialized romance that they can consume and create. ESCAPE has opened up new avenues in visual narrative gaming and now CMS has ventured into the next-generation of HD streaming platforms with bite-sized episodic shows on their latest release, REELSHORT.

As a Bilingual Writer/Editor, you will be engaged in reading Chinese novels for inspiration and write originals inspired by K-Drama. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in writing and must possess adequate knowledge and interest in K-Drama in addition to verbal and written proficiency in Mandarin . You will need to be able to make sense out of chaos, find the right connections and problem solve.

Recent graduates or anyone seeking entry-mid level position with 2-3 years writing background and strong interest in story writing (preferably in romance/drama) would be ideal for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Reading Chinese novels as a reference to understand themes and plots for writing original stories
• Analyze data and lay out a plan for optimization by reading the content and identifying the issue
• Write original content and occasionally work with published content
• Understand the data and usage of content for in-app retention, book retention optimization, chapter conversion, new user tutorials, marketing promotions, etc.
• Ability and comfortable in writing young adult romance/drama content

Requirements:

• Strong creative writing skills, preferably in screenwriting (romance/ drama preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in History, English, Fine Arts or Creative Writing
• Strong communication skills, bilingual in English and Mandarin
• Comprehensive historical and current knowledge of online reading or publishing industry
• Strong interest in reading novels (K-dramas)
• Passion for working in the content related field and past experience would be an asset
• Ability to work well under pressure and possess strong interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work in different time zones
• Strong passion to learn and gain experience in the gaming industry
• Ability to work in fast pace start up environment
• Ability to work in a hybrid work environment (Mon-Thur On-Site, Friday -WFH)
