Salary: $25-$40 per hour (negotiable based on experience)
Job Summary: As a Marine Technician, you will play a crucial role in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing boats of various types. Your responsibilities will include utilizing diagnostic equipment to ensure optimal performance of boat engines, hulls, propellers, rigging, masts, sails, and navigational equipment. Additionally, you will install and test sanitation and refrigeration systems, cabinetry, electrical systems, steering gear, and accessories.
Job Responsibilities: Conduct thorough inspections, maintenance, and repairs on boats of all kinds. Utilize diagnostic equipment to test and repair various boat components. Install and test sanitation and refrigeration systems, cabinetry, electrical systems, steering gear, and accessories. Troubleshoot, repair, replace, remove, and install vessel systems and components. Assess job requirements, including budgeted time and completion deadlines. Demonstrate expertise in marine systems including electrical, plumbing, and water systems. Assign parts and purchases to the appropriate vessels/tickets. Must possess and maintain own tools. Be available for overtime to meet deadlines. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Technical school training preferred. 2–5 years of experience preferred. ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred. Ability to ascend and descend ladders. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Basic boat handling skills preferred. Experience with both gas and diesel engines preferred.
