Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is seeking a 3D Artist - Cinema 4D/Unreal Engine to join our client's team. The client's Marketing Studio seeks an experienced Cinema 4D artist for an upcoming project. The ideal candidate will be an expert with modeling, materials, and very comfortable in a creative collaboration environment. We are not looking for a typical broadcast designer or post house production artist, but instead, a seasoned VFX motion designer that is attracted to abstract projects that push their own limits using common tools/software.

The project is a refresh of a previous system that produced our CG backgrounds used across multiple channels/platforms. The new system will embrace our evolved designs and lean heavily on 3D, textures, light, and particle systems. The project will require 80% production and 20% design support. Responsibilities:

• Refresh our CG brand themes by modeling high-quality materials within Unreal Engine.
• Create engaging 3D models, incorporating particle systems, to enhance the user experience.
• Collaborate effectively with the creative director and designers, interpreting direction creatively and offering your own design expertise.
• Work efficiently and independently to meet deadlines while maintaining the highest quality standards.
• Think outside the box and propose innovative solutions to complex design challenges.
• Have impeccable attention to detail and passion for a job well done
• Bring a strong and sophisticated sense of design, with excellent modeling skills and a deep understanding of design principles
• Create, iterate, present, and deliver exceptional design solutions
• Communicate and collaborate globally with other designers and creative directors
• Be a proactive problem solver and effective communication

Qualifications:

• 5 years experience in 3D modeling and design
• Ability to work in a high-volume and fast-paced environment
• Proven examples in a portfolio of the type of production work listed above (completed 3D modeling with particles systems)
• Strong track record both as an individual contributor and as a key member of a team
• Strong communication skills, approachable, and driven
• The ideal candidate will know (in order of priority):
• Cinema 4D
• Unreal Engine
• After Effects
• Figma
• Prior in-house creative services, studio, experience preferred
• Expert knowledge modeling complex materials with particle systems
• Ability to receive and implement art direction quickly and efficiently
• Ability to work within and expand upon a dynamic and defined visual/brand system
• Proven experience building 3D materials in Unreal Engine (or Cinema 4D), with a solid understanding its features and functionalities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment
• A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating visually striking experiences
• The ability to think critically and creatively, proposing innovative solutions and readily adapting to changing requirements

Location: 100% onsite at client's New York City Office
Duration: 3-4 month contract that is Full-time
Rate: $2,400/weekly W-2 consultant of Crawford Group; benefits available (Our salary ranges are determined based on skills, experience and location)
