Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP is Hiring an Investment Accountant Near New York, NY

OVERVIEW

The Investment Accountant is responsible for the administration of various Firm investment vehicles and qualified retirement plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares monthly and quarterly reports for Firm investment vehicles;
  • Prepares and updates workpapers and spreadsheets for various projects including capital accounts and tax basis workpapers;
  • Assists with the administration of the Firm’s qualified retirement plans;
  • Assists with the coordination of the audits of the Firm’s 401(k) and Pension Plans and prepares the plans’ financial statements;
  • Calculates capital call and distribution allocations for Firm investment vehicles;
  • Organizes Firm investment vehicle correspondences for distribution;
  • Maintains agreement inventory for Firm investment vehicles;
  • Works with assistants to ensure electronic versions of documents are maintained and organized; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years of experience in public accounting (audit or tax) or 4 years in private industry in an accounting or finance role. Experience in a law firm, service partnership or partnership business preferred;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Advanced skill-level in Microsoft Excel. Experience with tax and finance applications;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information;
  • Capable of organizing and coordinating workflow to meet strict deadlines;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with attorneys and other staff in a professional and service-oriented manner;
  • Ability to resolve problems quickly, work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time;
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions; and
  • Ability to work additional hours, as needed.

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and discretionary bonus(es), we offer a generous employee benefits package including, but not limited to, paid time off, medical, dental, vision care, 401(k) and substantial health club discounts.
