Basic Function:
Responsible for assisting parts manager in maintaining an accurate and controlled inventory and assisting with the flow of parts in the manufacturing process.
Ensures that all activities are carried out in a safe, effective, professional, and efficient manner to protect employees and the assets of the Company.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for properly receiving, binning, issuing and shipping materials to various divisions.
- Stocks and maintains parts storage area and manufacturing job carts.
- Pull and issues parts to manufacturing floor personnel per build requests.
- Ensure technicians are served quickly, while reviewing and signing inventory log sheets upon part issuance.
- Assist parts manager with order and tracking part shipments.
- Maintain an accurate and controlled inventory, including cycle and inventory counts, proper labeling, recording and storing parts in designated areas.
- Responsible for coordinating and tracking multiple projects.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:
1. High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
2. Organization and administrative skills, including ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
3. Strong computer skills.
4. Must project positive and professional image to customers, co-workers, work crews, and general public.
5. Must possess a valid drivers' license with good driving record.
6. Able to read, write and speak English.
7. Ability to operate forklifts safely.
8. Must pass qualification tests as required (includes: ERail Safe and other training/safety programs).
9. Must meet 24/7 availability to respond to emergency calls for service including weekends and holidays.
Physical Demands:
- Walking / talking / sitting / standing / kneeling / climbing / stooping / bending / carrying materials / parts as needed to provide support, advice and support to supervisors / foremen and shop personnel.
- Working extended hours; ability to work under stress.
- May be exposed to changing weather conditions.
- Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds; loads in excess of 50 pounds and which can be reduced, should be made lighter.
- Employee must obtain assistance when lifting items weighing more than 75 pounds, or items which present ergonomic challenges in lifting/movement/placement.
