Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager in Chandler, AZ to join our high performing Operations & Facilities Team.
Our product line includes power management products and sophisticated electronic radio frequency components and subsystems. As a total solution enterprise, we offer our customers electronic manufacturing services, engineering support services, product development, and production service sets. Our products are found in the most complex commercial and defense applications.
Position Overview:
Responsible for the management and coordination of all activities as they relate to safety, health and environment at the site in order to reduce occupational injuries, illnesses and the accompanying financial losses.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the division of Environmental, Safety and Industrial Hygiene Programs and ensure compliance with all applicable government laws and regulations
Serve as a consultant to managers and supervisors on accident-prevention and loss-control enhancements and provides interpretation of related policies and procedures
Work with Human Resource to administer the Workers’ Compensation program
Coordinate all training programs related to safety, ergonomics, accident prevention and first aid
Evaluate, review, and make recommendations on proposed plant layouts, equipment and facilities, assuring the control of the hazards which are potentially existent in the storage, handling or use of toxic material and harmful agents
Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: 2-4 years experience in an aerospace or general manufacturing environment with progressive responsibilities
Knowledge: Working knowledge of environmental management systems; Must possess a good working knowledge of code and federal & state OSHA regulations, including Life Safety Code, the Occupational Safety and Health Act and Workers’ Compensation laws
Skills/Abilities: Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and oversight under tight time constraints; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to line and senior management
Education/Certification: BS Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineer/Health, or Occupational Safety and Health required; Certified in hazardous material management, 40-hour HAZWOPER and environmental auditor
Eligibility Requirement: This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Master’s degree preferred
