Job Summary

The award-winning Craddock Terry Hotel, a high-end boutique hotel in Downtown Lynchburg, is looking to add a dynamic Housekeeping Lead to the team. If you have experience cleaning guest rooms and supervising others, and want to work in a terrific environment in the best hotel, apply now! Scope

Supervises the housekeeping staff and inspects rooms and public space for service and quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction as the relief for the Guest Services Manager. Includes ensuring the quality standards of the cleanliness of Guest Rooms and Public Spaces. This is a full-time position.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervises the operations of housekeeping and laundry areas to ensure the achievement of productivity and quality service standards.
  • Inspects guest rooms to ensure that cleanliness standards and proper amenity and literature placement have been met.
  • Assists in the training of Room Attendants in all housekeeping procedures and standards.
  • Cleans and services guest rooms as necessary to ensure that rooms are available for guest to use and accommodate late checkouts.
  • Reports needed repairs or unsafe conditions to Manager or Engineering Department.
  • Responds to housekeeping requests from guest or management in a timely, efficient and friendly manner.
  • Assist in inventory of supplies and linen to help keep necessary amounts on a weekly basis
  • Ensure all orders are received with the correct amounts and store items correctly.
  • Supervise evening Guest Services associates.
  • Reports lost and found articles.
  • Ensure a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.

Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Qualifications

Education/ Experience: Basic reading, writing and math skills. Understands and comprehends English.

Working Conditions:

  • Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Will be required to use common household chemicals.

Since cleaning and inspecting is the major responsibility of this position, the Housekeeping Lead spends a significant portion of their workday involved with the following: unlocking, opening, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending and stretching.

A significant amount of time is spent listening and speaking since the position is responsible for reporting problems to the Guest Services Manager and assisting in training room attendants.

Housekeeping Lead moves about to inspect the cleanliness of the property (guest rooms and public areas) and this is accomplished by walking.

In addition to operating a vacuum cleaner, Housekeeping Lead typically lift and pull items weighing as much as 25 pounds.

Basic reading, writing and mathematical abilities are used some of the time.

The person in this position has opportunities to utilize reasoning, training and problem solving abilities.
