The Laborer Superintendent contributes to the overall success of CR Meyer and its heavy industrial customers through assigning tasks and providing leadership to a crew of tradespersons on various job sites. Oversees a crew that is responsible for a wide variety of tasks on the construction site including but not limited to: material handling, assisting with concrete pours, building/dismantling structures, site cleaning/maintenance, etc. Responsible for ensuring an excellent degree of workmanship while simultaneously prioritizing the safety of oneself and others and aligning work to CR Meyer values.

• Works with Project Manager(s) and/or customer representatives to ensure assigned projects stay on track as far as scope, schedule, budget, quality and safety requirements.
• Reads, interprets and ensures that work is compliant with approved construction drawings and documents. Asks questions when unsure of requirements prior to commencing work.
• Delegates work and provides leadership to designated crew; actively participates in construction tasks related to Laborer trade.
• Oversees the work of other tradespersons within the scope of the project, and provides leadership as needed.
• Conducts pre-task planning sessions with crew to ensure everyone knows the job expectations, has the training/tools they need and understands safety requirements for the work they will be performing.
• Participates in the pre-construction phase by providing information on time and materials to Project Managers to prepare quotes.
• Communicates, coaches and enforces CR Meyer safety standards with their crew including but not limited to: PPE, power tool safety, HazCom, lock-out/tag-out, confined space, fall protection, powered industrial vehicles, jobsite housekeeping standards, etc.
• Works with the Safety Coordinator to train and hold people accountable to CR Meyer safety standards. Has the authority to stop work in cases of imminent danger.
• Orders tools, supplies, materials, equipment needed for job completion using the company’s Yard Ordering system. Monitors and controls access to company property to reduce damage and/or loss.
• Orients new employees to the job site.
• Accurately keeps track of crew time and reports payroll hours in accordance with company training.
• Accurately tracks productivity measurements and reports as required.
• Participates in project team meetings, as required.
• Completes all paperwork in accordance with CR Meyer paperwork training.
• Works cooperatively with other trades to ensure projects stay on track. Ensures all communication with customers, subcontractors, coworkers and other parties is professional.
• Leads by personal example and is a strong advocate for the CR Meyer Mission-Vision-Values and Code of Conduct.
• Proactively maintains certifications and training requirements in relation to Laborer trade, with an emphasis on new developments in the field, technology and leadership.
• Maintains personal transcript of training and provides updates to the company as needed.
• Wears all assigned PPE and observes CR Meyer safety guidelines at all times.
• Due to project deadlines and demands, regular and reliable attendance is required.
• Completes all related paperwork in a timely manner.
• Represents the CR Meyer brand in a positive, professional manner at all times.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Previous experience as a Laborer Journeyman/Foreman in a heavy industrial construction setting required and must hold a Journeyman Certificate/License.
• Ability to complete all CR Meyer training and perform job duties within safety guidelines including, but not limited to, First/Aid-CPR Certification, OSHA 30 and SafeStart and other job/trade-specific requirements.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with CR Meyer’s Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program.
• Must possess basic computer skills and/or the ability to learn CR Meyer software and systems.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, insurable driving history and ability to operate a motor vehicle following all traffic laws and safe, courteous driving habits.
• Primary work hours are weekdays, however, overtime, weekend and on-call/emergency work will be required in relation to project completion deadlines.
• Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States, without employer sponsorship.
