Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant who is team oriented to assist in all areas of the accounting cycle including financial reporting and process improvement. Staff accountant responsibilities include reconciling accounts, assisting in all areas of the month/year-end close, financial reporting, tax and external audits. The ideal candidate also has experience collaborating with different departments. This position will help drive internal controls and process improvement, not only in the accounting area, but also within other areas in the Company.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of GL accounting experience (manufacturing, and experience with global entities is a plus)
• 1 years public accounting (preferred)
• Knowledge of accounting operations functions (A/R, A/P, payroll, etc.)
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Actively involved with the month/year-end close including bank reconciliations, Fixed Asset, month-over-month analysis, and review of balance sheet and P&L accounts
• Able to problem-solve, perform research, create reports, and take on ad-hoc requests.
• Create journal entries including accruals.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
• Assist with streamlining processes and document internal controls.
• Able to perform work with minimal supervision.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages
• Strong MS Excel skills (Works daily with vlookups, tables, pivot charts, and Sumifs)
• Accuracy and attention to detail with excellent verbal and written skills
• Proven process improvement experience

• Take an active role in the accounting department month/year-end close process.
• Ensure all accounts are reconciled monthly.
• Responsible for bank, fixed assets, and intangible asset amortization
• Import journal entries such as payroll, fixed assets etc.
• Provide supporting schedules for external parties.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
• Assist with streamlining processes, documenting internal controls and continuous improvement.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies.
• Work closely with AR, AP and Finance team to assist in various functions, in addition to cross training.
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis support.
• Assist with commissions reporting.

• Support the team when needed.
• Follows all policies and procedures of Occupational Safety and Health, Human Resources and Quality Department. Reports any safety deficiency to immediate supervisor.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
