- Plan and release workflow according to customer need, on hand materials, and resource capacity.
- Ensure that team members follow defined manufacturing processes and comply with quality requirements.
- Help lead the site on the Continuous Improvement journey, including 6S.
- Monitor and maintain safe work practices.
- Document machinery and equipment failures and agree to the necessary actions to restore production quickly.
- Ensure the smooth introduction of new products and processes.
- Understand Bills of Material for this specific product line, and how they relate to the production orders. This will help to ensure the items are routed appropriately.
- Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Provide product expertise within the team and respond to operator queries.
- Work positively with support functions to fully define the processes/procedures/controls relevant to team activities. Provide support and input to continuous improvement activities within the team.
- Ensure operation/production goals are met and proper staff and work allocation levels are maintained
- Monitor that operation teams meet customer requirements and take corrective actions in case of deviations from requirements
- Working knowledge of blueprint design, materials management, customer order and procurement procedures.
- Ability to develop and lead others to follow company policies and procedures
- Analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing process and documentation
- Ability to communicate, work independently, be innovative, work under stress and to work with critical deadlines and pressures
- Exercise considerable initiative/judgement in work methods and in interpreting and delegating work requirements/goals
- Work independently, reviewed infrequently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lead by example, gain respect from the team and communicate with clarity while demonstrating excellence in approach to work and people activities
- Ability to use MS Office products and basic functions in an MRP/ERP system is a must
