Role:

This is an Electrical engineering design position within the CPM packaging group of companies. Reporting to the Electrical Projects lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of electrical design for our product range, using Autocad Electrical to produce the finished output. There will be opportunities to see the finished product being manufactured and there may be occasion where final inspection work can be undertaken. The role is office based in Blackburn with some opportunities to work at suppliers and other sites.

Description of duties and expectations.

1. Interpretation of customer specification and requirements leading to production of detailed functional design specifications.
2. Must be able to undertake all aspects of electrical design for machines and systems including conceptual design, detailed design and production of detailed drawings.
3. Must be able to produce electrical Schematic Diagrams & General Arrangements using AutoCAD Electrical.
4. Ensure that all initial Electrical Engineering designs are accurately interpreted by working closely with the Electrical team and ensuring electrical drawings are completed accurately, to project schedules and checked prior to issue to Electrical sub-contractors.
5. Ensure that best electrical engineering practices are observed in relation to CE and other regulatory documentation in line with operating standards and procedures which will include Functional Design Specification, Risk assessments.
6. To create and ‘maintain’ Operation and Maintenance Manual, BOM, Data sheets appertaining to CPM Packaging Group products.
7. To liaise directly with all suppliers and customers as appropriate through direct site visits where necessary and to ensure contracts are monitored, executed on time and accurately to customer satisfaction.
8. To assist the Electrical Projects Team with Pre-Delivery inspections when required.
9. To be aware at all times of the importance of continuous engineering improvement and cost reduction of all company products and to provide feedback to the Electrical Team and Engineering Director on an ongoing basis possible “value engineering” and product “cost” improvements / suggestions.
10. Ensure that Health and safety standards are met.

EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role in addition the successful candidate will have the following skills

• Good Communication Skills
• Attention to detail

ESSENTIAL SKILLSETS

• Minimum HNC/D qualification or equivalent in electrical engineering
• Competent in AutoCAD Electrical
• Competent in Microsoft Office Word, Excel & Project
