This internship is a unique professional learning opportunity for a college student enrolled in a scientific field degree program to get exposure to different aspects of clinical research and public health programs.

In this position you will:

• Help prepare slides with academic activities to be included in the monthly staff meeting presentation
• Assist in monthly scientific Lunch & Learns with speaker selections, slide preparation, meal ordering, conference room setup and clean-up
• Attend clinical trial operations calls
• Work with Community Health team in supporting site contacts and team members in program activities
• Assist with community health workers behavioral health curriculum implementation and entering content into Canvas
• Provide support at the CHARLAR program screening events
• Assist with data entry for CHARLAR follow-ups, screenings, and re-screenings
• Attend Community Health monthly meetings with community health workers
• Participate in shadowing opportunities in clinic
• Learn TMF functions by working with TMF Specialist
• Learn role of Institutional Review Boards (IRBs)
• Learn functionality and role of budget with finance team
• Attend Site Endpoint Evaluation Visits (SEEVs)
• Attend 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT) remote training sessions to learn role of functional testing
• Observational shadowing to learn functionality and role of the following safety related topics:
  • medical monitoring
  • narrative writing/shell building
  • DSMB, adjudication
  • committee management

Here’s what you will need to bring to the table:

• Enrollment in undergraduate or graduate scientific field degree program

• Ability to attend in-person training

• Good communication and organizational skills

• Great attention to detail and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel

Note: Viable applicants will be required to pass a background and education verification check.

In-office Presence: 100% of time

Compensation: $20/hr

Internship Length: 3 months
