Rickman Transport is a dependable provider of logistics solutions, specializing in oil & gas operations throughout the Southwest region and we are seeking a Controller to join our team.
This role is vital to our company and considered part of the management team. One of the key aspects of this position will be accuracy – i.e. accurate and timely financials. And secondly - the coordination of two operational software systems, which are Quick Books Online and McLeod Enterprise (used forpayroll, load tracking and driver settlement.)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Manage/maintain/report AP/AR (and associated processes) from both a detailed and holistic approach.
· Monthly reconciliation of accounts
· GL and Journal entry management and entry
· Monthly P&L reporting
o Accurately accrue cross month expenses/revenues
o Accurately accrue lump insurance premium payments, etc.
· Timely Monthly Closings
· Vendor/AP/AR data integrity and accuracy
· Timely application of payments/direct deposits/checks to QBO
· File and pay 940 and 941/ generate 1099 and W-2
· Import McLeod Reports into QBO – so both software programs are in sync.
· Must be able to accurately record depreciation schedules – as we are asset heavy.
What You’ll Bring
· At least 5 years’ bookkeeping and accounting experience with producing accurate, timely and quality financials.
· Professional Communicator – Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work collaboratively with the team, customers and contractors. Responsive to situations as they arise with a focus on customer experience.
· Focused—You are detailed in your approach to work and able to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Education and Technology Prerequisites
· Bachelor’s degree preferred but willing to consider candidates with the right experience
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks Online, Teams required
· McLeod Enterprise experience is preferred.
