Summary

Performs direct maintenance and repair work, whether in house or within the other facilities of the Cozad Community Health System, ensuring safe, economic, and dependable operation of resources and service, and ensuring that the physical facility appearance is maintained to the highest degree in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Cozad Community Health System.

· Participates in a variety of maintenance and repair work throughout the health system facilities.

· Adjusts workload accordingly to ensure that facility deadlines are met.

· Communicates with Facilities Director on a regular basis regarding building structures, related systems, equipment, and maintaining the systems and equipment.

· Identifies, analyzes, solves, and repairs equipment issues.

· Assists in alterations, modifications, and construction projects as directed by the Facilities Director.

· Monitors, inspects, and ensures safe and efficient function and operation of all buildings, equipment, systems, and grounds.

· Maintains the physical plant, grounds, and equipment of all facilities.

· Follows all HIPAA guidelines and promotes and ensures patient safety.

· Fulfills mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive and professional environment.

· Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). At least 3 years’ experience in facility and maintenance operations required. Knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems required.

Licensure/Certification

Basic Life Support (CPR)

Valid Driver’s License

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with patients, visitors and employees.
