Job Summary:Restorative aides are health-care professionals who are responsible for providing restorative and rehabilitation care for residents to maintain or regain physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Aides in this capacity are certified nurse aides (CNAs) with specialized training in restorative care. The Restorative aide provides care to the residents as established in the management's policies and procedures. The C.N.A must possess comprehensive knowledge of good residents care practices.
**Will be working directly with the therapy program to rehabilitate residents in a skilled nursing setting**
Duties of the Restorative Aide (C.N.A):
Works with residents to maintain, improve and/or enhance each resident's quality of care and quality of life
Provides, completes, and documents resident care as assigned in a timely and accurate manner.
Attends and participates in facility in-service programs. (Both therapy and certified nursing in-services)
Practices good infection control techniques in all aspects of resident care.
Restorative aides report any change of condition to charge nurse and therapy department
Responds timely to resident requests, including call light response.
Observes residents rights including privacy, dignity, and others when providing care to residents.
The restorative aide helps out on the floor, and with activities as needed.
Communicates effectively with residents, families, other staff members, and management.
Assists residents for social functions and meals in a timely manner as assigned or as indicated on plan of care.
Other duties as needed by residents.
Qualifications:Must have completed an approved training program and passed competency examinations for Certified Nurse Assistant. Must be certified as a Restorative aide, or being willing to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements:This job requires good physical and mental health. Physical activities may include lifting up to fifty pounds, rotating and assisting residents who are partially or totally dependent.
