Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Shipping Manager is responsible for the shipment of product to customers both internationally and domestically. The Shipping Manager is
responsible for the accuracy of shipments, ensuring on-time delivery of shipments, meeting all documented service requirements, and inventory management. Ensures that Operations staff
meet or exceed customer service delivery commitment.
Responsibilities:
- Proven experience as shipping manager
- Solid knowledge of logistics procedures
- Experience in using EDI and preparing shipping documents (e.g. ASN)
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
- Good understanding of budgeting and reporting
- Experience in directing and evaluating subordinates
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Problem-solving abilities
- Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders
- Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, bills of lading etc.
- Direct the flow of packages from preparation to shipment
- Inspect labels, barcodes and other features of completed orders
- Supervise and lead subordinates (receiving clerks, order pickers etc.)
- Control budget of the shipping department
- Collaborate with managers to optimize processes
- Resolve issues regarding shipped orders•
- Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies
- Report to management on activities and issues
Desired Background/Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED and/or BSBA in Supply Chain and Logistics.
- Knowledge of Shipping, Transportation, Warehousing is a plus.
- Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience as a Shipping Manager.
Other Information:
Shift – 5am-7am start, M-F, Salaried position, $60-$80k depending on experience
This position is permanent/full time/direct hire.
