Cowlitz Family Health Center is seeking Medical Assistants for the following positions.

Position # 2023-75 - Full Time 1.0 FTE - Float Position - Location and Shifts Variable.

Position # 2023-76 - Full Time 1.0 FTE - 12th Ave - Tuesday Through Friday 10 hour days

Position # 2023-77 - Full Time 1.0 FTE - 14th Ave - Monday through Thursday -10 hour days

Hourly Rate: $21.53 - $23.19 per hour. The hiring rate is dependent on qualifications, professional experience, and/or terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a medical provider. Assists Physician/ARNP/PA-C or RN with direct patient care. Under direction and supervision by medical professional staff: administer injections, room patients, take vitals, record chief complaints, and assist with minor surgeries/procedures with a medical provider. The Medical Assistant interacts regularly with patients, coworkers, and various other people on a day-to-day basis within the medical clinic and displays a friendly manner, a commitment to service, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess a valid unrestricted WA State Medical Assistant Certification.
• BLS/CPR certification required within 3-6 months of hire.
• High school diploma plus successful completion of a minimum of one academic year of post-secondary education in a medical assisting program from an accredited educational institution. Associates degree in medical assisting and/or certified medical assistant preferred.

DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• 1-4 years previous work experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Proficient in Medical terminology and medical office procedures.
• Ability to work with a low-income, multi-ethnic patient population and a demonstrated ability to relate respectfully and effectively to people of diverse racial, educational and socio-economic backgrounds.
