Cowelco Steel Contractors is a Long Beach business that opened in 1947. We are family-owned and operated. Cowelco fabricates and installs steel for the following types of projects; Parking Structures, Hospitals, Colleges, MetroLink and others. During the 1950s and 1960s, Cowelco helped build Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Cowelco is a City of Los Angeles Certified Fabricator and is signatory to the Ironworkers Union Local 433.
Project Coordinator (Entry Level) – Miscellaneous Steel/Stair Contractor
Long Beach, CA Steel Fabricator seeks Experienced Misc Metals/Stair Steel Project Coordinator for projects located throughout Southern California. Technically and administratively manages all aspects of steel projects from project award to completion. The candidate will ensure client requirements and company standards are met and must be able to work in a close team environment with other team members.
Position, salary, and benefits commensurate with experience (4 years minimum)
Main Duties:
1. Create Work/Loading Orders from Release for Fabrication Shop Drawings.
2. Keep excellent records for Work Orders and other submitted paperwork.
3. Use multiple online General Contractor Construction Management Softwares to monitor and submit RFIs (Requests for Information) and RFCs (Request for Clarification) Procore,
4. Keep organized records of RFIs and RFCs on server and create reports to monitor and report on in meetings.
5. Assist Change Order personnel with backup for labor and other related costs.
6. Ability to use 3D/BIM software. Tekla or Revit.
7. Proficiency in MS Office.
8. Ability to read and understand Architectural and Structural Design Drawings.
9. Creativity encouraged.
