Cowbell Cyber is hiring a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. 

Summary: in this role, you will be responsible for all daily accounting tasks, maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, owning accounts receivables and payables, and assisting with period-end close processes. Working directly with the VP Finance, you will play an enormous role in supporting the organization, ensuring the company’s accounting operations runs smoothly, and will have the opportunity to expand and grow your role as the company scales.

What you will do:

• Handle all customer invoicing and collections (A/R)
• Handle all billings and timely payments (A/P)
• Maintain and update accounting records and files
• Reconcile bank statements
• Maintain clean and current balance sheet account reconciliations
• Categorize post transactions in the general ledger
• Review and clear all employees’ expense reports
• Update and maintain the fixed assets register
• Conduct month-end and year-end closes including accruals and other adjustment journal entries
• Communicate independently with internal and external stakeholders on financial transactions. Respond to accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
• Ensure compliance with rules and regulations
• Work to continually improve financial processes and controls
• Prepare documents for audits
• Update and upgrade job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations

What Cowbell needs from you:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• 5 years of relevant accounting experience
• P&C insurance industry knowledge and experience preferred
• Experience with Netsuite preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• High degree of initiative and independence in completing tasks
• Good problem-solving and time management skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accurate
• Tech-savvy with minimum intermediate Excel skill level
