Job Description:
The Cow Creek Band of The Umpqua Tribe of Indians is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Archaeologist to join our team. This position is full-time and is not a remote job.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct archaeological surveys and excavations
- Analyze artifacts and historical data
- Interpret findings and prepare reports
- Collaborate with stakeholders and tribal members
- Adhere to cultural heritage preservation guidelines
- Participate in public outreach and educational programs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Archaeology or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of field experience
- Knowledge of federal and state archaeological laws
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with Native American tribes is preferred
