Covenant Aviation Security (CAS) is hiring Part Time Dual Functioning Officers at Orlando International Airport. We are responsible for day-to-day security screening and access control of airport employees and other individuals passing through screening locations and various access points across the airport. Must be able, and willing, to perform Security Officer and Supervisor duties. Must have at least 1 year supervisory experience. Essential Functions: Part Time Security Officer functions
Responsible for identifying dangerous objects and preventing those objects from being transported through Screening Locations.
Carry out duties in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service.
Use diverse, cutting edge electronic detection and imaging equipment.
Perform metal detection searches, pat down searches, operation of x-ray machines, physical searches of property, and other identification review as needed.
Additional security related duties to ensure safety to the traveling public.
Part Time Supervisor functions
Required to assist with training for new employees, as assigned.
Responsible for supervising personnel on assigned shift(s) and completion of all security tasks
Responsible for performing routine checks of all on duty security personnel to ensure compliance with Post Orders and operating procedures, Client rules and regulations, and company policies
Inspect, observe, and evaluate security officer’s work activities to monitor and assess individual’s quality of work and overall performance. Conduct required assessments and tests
Check all security posts and equipment assigned to security posts to ensure safety, cleanliness, and full working order. Implement corrections or report deficiencies to site management as necessary
Respond to reported incidents, emergencies, operational issues and inquires, and any other situations not adequately addressed in Post Orders as they arise and ensure proper resolution
Coach and mentor security workforce regarding Post Orders, Client rules and regulations, and company policy compliance
Perform training instruction as assigned
Ensure timely and complete preparation and submission of all required operational documentation, including, but not limited to, post and patrol logs, notices, sign-in/sign-out rosters, Daily Activity Reports (DARS), Employee Statements and Incident Reports
Maintain knowledge of, and capability to operate, all post equipment and perform all the duties associated with the basic post/patrol officer(s) assignments and work tasks
Determine and implement scheduling adjustments and reassignment of workforce as needed for known requirements for current and subsequent shifts
Maintain communication with management and other supervisors, including, but not limited to, supervisor(s) on following shift(s) regarding any operational or personnel issues or issues that may reveal vulnerabilities or hinder successful accomplishment of security duties
Coordinate assistance from the Operations Manager to solve special situations
Minimum Requirements:
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Must be able to obtain Florida Class D Security License
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Must read, write and speak English proficiently
Must be able to pass a verifiable background check, including criminal, employment, education, and personal references
Must possess valid state-issued Driver's License or a valid state-Issued I.D. card
Must be able to pass pre-employment/annual/random drug screenings
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to work and interact with the public
Must be able to work around the flexibility and changing of schedules. This includes being available to work shifts throughout the day, afternoon, evening, and overnight as required.
