About the Opportunity 

Under general direction from the Center Manager, clinical technician in the surgery center is a trained technician who assists the Registered Nurse in preparing patients for surgery, transporting patients from pre-operative are and to the post-operative area among other delegated assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists nurses, including transporting, positioning, and emotional support.
• Assists in psychologically preparing patients for procedures, communicating effectively with patients and peers.
• Cleans and restocks procedure rooms and processing areas, ensuring that all equipment is stored properly.
• Notifies supervisor of any problems encountered during the care of patients.
• Maintains inventory of supplies, assisting in the receipt of incoming supplies.
• Recognizes and utilizes safety precautions and procedures.
• Utilizes PPE per Center Policies.
• Applies Biohazardous Waste Management per facility and regulatory standards.
• Engages in various clerical and record duties as needed.
• Works well within a team environment.
• Assists in all rescue and/or resuscitative efforts as deemed necessary by attending physician, Medical Director and/or Center Manager.
• Assists with the transport and discharge of patient.
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

About the Candidate

• High school education or equivalent.
• Previous experience in surgical center setting. 
• Maintains CPR certification.
• Able to use personal computer, including word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail / calendar functions for day-to-day activities.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with physicians and all medical professionals.
• If applicable, holds current clinical license, registration, or certification in good standing by the applicable authority.
