Position Summary: The Clinical Pharmacy Intern is an entry-level position that participates in both distributive and clinical activities. Duties are designed to develop a knowledge base and competency level while performing pharmacy functions under the direct supervision of a clinical pharmacist. Functions performed as an intern include (but are not limited to): admission, medication history, medication counseling and patient education, drug information, drug dosing, drug preparation and drug distribution. The clinical pharmacy intern ensures that patient care is maintained under the supervision of a clinical pharmacist through compliance with the department's policies, rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Pharmacy, and other applicable regulatory bodies. An emphasis is placed on working collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to provide services to improve drug utilization and therapeutic outcomes. These tasks will be completed while supporting the mission, vision, and core values of the organization.

Education - Graduate (PharmD in Progress)

Experience - No previous experience required

Licensure - Unencumbered State of Maine Pharmacy Intern License

Certification - BLS preferred
